About

Learning the language and wanting to read some actual stuff. There are certainly mistakes and places where I get stumped. I do take some liberties in the process. I believe it's more important to convey the emotions even if the word choice is technically a bit off. For that reason I also preserve most of the punctuation. Dashes and dots may litter the page, but they really help in characterizing tone.

BTW I leave in honorifics and stuff. If you've come to this page you probably know the meaning behind these already, including things like "onii-san", "aniki", "kaa-san", etc. If not, look it up.

Reading Translations

I begin some comments with slashes "/" to mark flashbacks and the end of chapters/volumes. I use the acronym "TBC" ("to be continued") to mark where I have taken a break in translation mid-chapter, as well as "WIP" ("work in progress").

Most of my comments (either to make a note in translations or just inject my personal quips) begin with my alias (Snomits) or the ※ symbol. Some of my notes also include Japanese characters. If you cannot see these symbols, adjust the character encoding of your Internet browser. I use UTF-8.

Navigating manga:

  • A = click on arrows to navigate left and right. If there is no arrow, there is no previous/next page available or I have not uploaded it yet.
  • B = click on page numbers to jump to a page.
  • Go to previous/next chapters via links above and below the translation area.
